First off, you must configure mIRC to accept ALL file types because you can later look in the downloads folder and decide whether or not to keep the file. You can achieve this by going to "File>Options>DCC>Options>Folders". Make sure that the Drop-Down box labelled "DCC Ignore" is set to "Disabled". Also, make sure that the option labelled "Turn ignore back on in:" is NOT checked (or else what would be the point!?!!). Now, you are set to receive any kind of file no matter what its extension may be.
Secondly, if you are like me (which I doubt) then you leech uncontrollably and spend most of your mIRC online time leeching. In this case, you might not be at your PC at all times to accept the sends. To automatically accept ALL DCC transfers go to "File>Options>DCC>Options". There are 3 sections of which ONLY 2 are of concern right now. Configure the following options under "On Send request:" as follows; Select "Auto-get file and" and make sure "minimize" is checked (this is optional). Now, the following option is tricky and hard to say which is the best option. However, this is the way I believe is the best way; Configure the following options under "If Auto-get and file exists:"; select "Resume" if you have LOW bandwidth or don't want to repeat broken/incomplete downloads, select "Overwrite" if you and the person you are leeching from have BROADBAND (Cable, DSL, ISDN, Etc.) or just don't want to risk having corrupt downloads, ONLY select "Ask" if you won't be AFK (Away From Keyboard) and/or your not sure about a few files that you will be receiving.
Thirdly, because NOT all file servers on mIRC are list servers, you must configure mIRC so that DCC chat requests are automatically accepted (this will save you time and is just a good option to have even if you aren't going to leech from FileServers like Polaris). You can do this by doing as follows; go to "File>Options>DCC>Options" and configure the options under "On Chat request:" as follows; select "Auto-accept and" and make sure "minimize" is NOT checked (Recommended!).
So, you think your ready to be an efficient leecher? Do you think your "ELITE"? Well, guess again!?!! Even though it seems there is nothing else that could make you MORE efficient than you currently are there are several mIRC scripts which will DEFINATELY improve your leeching and sanity by 30%. One which i highly recommend is 'AutoGet 6.0 by ^Omen^' which you can get from "http://welcome.to/AutoGet". That is the BEST AutoRequester I have used by far, Download and see for yourself. Another script I highly recommend is 'KeepTrack 6.0 by ^Omen^'; this logs how many files sent & received, it also logs how many bytes have been sent & received. There are many other scripts which might be of good use to you that I haven't used or don't recommend. One last thing I DEFINATELY recommend is to get SDFind Version 3.98 or later (can be found on Undernet #bookz or #bookwarez on my Server); it was originally created by SDSailor (R.I.P) and later modified by ^Omen^. Please, learn to share your bandwidth, after all, you leeched from somebody so why don't you let sombody leech from you?
